The Moral of the Story

I am so sick and tired of people telling me that we shouldn’t judge anybody else’s culture, religion, or general perspective on life; that all religions and cultures are equal.
I am a firm believer in the idea that there is a universal moral code that should cross borders, language barriers, religions affiliations, geographical features, from the north to the south pole of the Earth. I will freely admit that I can’t sit here in front of my trusty, high-speed box and pound out so much as one single line of this moral code. This is for two reasons:
1) I’m not elequent enough.
2) I can suspect that something is wrong, but I really only know it when my stomach turns.
I do believe that every human being, every organization, every military, every governmental entity can be held to this standard, without exception. I will, in all fairness, make the following additional observations:
1) No one government on the face of the earth is true to this code. Not even that of the United States.
2) Even my own neighbors often wish to disregard this code when it suits them.
If you’re wondering what got me thinking along these lines, you’re welcome to read this discussion on the subject of the mistreatment of women, in regards to genital mutilation.
I really have nothing else to say on the subject.
Well, okay, I do have one more thing to say. Moral relativism sickens me to the core of my being.
